What is Turkish Draughts?

Turkish Draughts is a unique variation of checkers where the moves and captures are made horizontally and vertically, rather than diagonally like in most checker games. The board is a 64-cell grid, and each player starts with 16 checkers placed on all cells of the second and third horizontal rows.

How to Play Turkish Draughts

• Artificial Intelligence, Single Player, or Multiplayer: You can challenge the game's AI, play against a friend on the same device, or compete with an online opponent in multiplayer mode. You can also spectate games or suggest moves for others.

• First Move: The player with the white checkers starts the game.

• Basic Moves: A simple checker moves one square forward, left, or right. A queen can move any number of empty squares forward, backward, right, or left.

• Capturing: If you can capture an opponent's checker, you must do so during your turn. A simple checker captures by jumping over an opponent's checker in front, to the right, or to the left. A queen captures by jumping over any number of empty squares in front, behind, to the right, or to the left, as long as the square following the checker is free.

• Taking Checkers: When capturing, the captured checkers are removed from the board one by one during the battle.

• Promotion: If a simple checker reaches the eighth horizontal row, it becomes a queen at the end of the move.

• Winning: The game ends when a player has destroyed all of the opponent's checkers, deprived them of the ability to move, or is left with more checkers than the opponent.
