How to play Spades
- Set Up: Begin by dealing 13 cards to each player, ensuring everyone has the same number of cards.
- Bidding: Players take turns bidding the number of tricks they think they can win. The highest bidder leads the first trick.
- Play: The leader plays a card, and players must follow suit if possible. If they can't follow suit, they must play a spade. Playing a spade during the bidding phase is called "exposing" a spade, and the player must follow suit with another spade in the next trick.
- Tricks: The highest card in the lead suit wins the trick. If no suit is led, the highest spade wins. Players collect the tricks they win.
- Blind Nil: A player can choose to bid "nil," meaning they promise not to win any tricks. If they do, they lose points; if they don't, they gain extra points.
- End of the Game: The game continues until a player reaches a pre-determined score or until all the cards are played. The player with the most points wins the game.
