What is Hearts?
Hearts is a classic card game that challenges players to strategize and minimize their score. The aim is to avoid accumulating points, with the game concluding when a player reaches 100 points. The player with the lowest score at the end of the game is declared the winner.
How to Play Hearts
- Setup: Deal all 52 cards to the players, ensuring each player has 13 cards.
- Gameplay: The game is played in rounds, with the first card dealt to the player to the left of the dealer.
- Trick Taking: Players must follow the suit led by the player who won the previous trick. If no player can follow suit, the highest card of the led suit is played.
- Hearts and Queen of Spades: Hearts and the Queen of Spades are the "trump" cards. If a player plays a Heart or the Queen of Spades, the suit must be followed.
- Scoring: Hearts and the Queen of Spades are worth 10 points each, while other cards are worth their face value. Players receive points for the cards they win in tricks.
- End of Game: The game continues until a player reaches 100 points. The player with the lowest score is the winner.
