What is Mill Nine Men's Morris?

Mill Nine Men's Morris is one of the oldest games in the world! Its history goes way back, even to ancient times. Archaeologists have found traces of this game in places like Troy (3000-2500 BC) and Pakistan (2600-1800 BC). How to Play

1. Placing Pieces: Each player takes turns putting their chips on an empty circle on the board.
2. Forming a Mill: If you line up three of your pieces in a straight row, you’ve made a "mill." When this happens, you get to remove one of your opponent’s pieces from the board!
3. Moving Pieces: After all your pieces are on the board, you can start moving them. You can move one piece at a time to an adjacent empty circle along the lines. You can’t jump over pieces or move diagonally.
4. Special Rule: If you only have three pieces left, you get a special advantage! You can move your pieces to any empty circle on the board, not just the ones next to them.
5. Winning the Game: The game ends in two ways:
   • If a player has only two pieces left, they lose because they can’t form a mill anymore.
   • If a player can’t make any moves because all the nearby circles are blocked, they lose, and the other player wins!
