What is Klondike Solitaire?

Klondike Solitaire is a classic card game that challenges players to build four foundations, one for each suit, from the lowest card (Ace) to the highest (King). The goal is to use all the cards in the deck in a strategic manner to achieve this.

How to Play Klondike Solitaire

1. Setup: Begin by dealing all 52 cards face down into a single pile, known as the stock pile. Then, turn over the top card and place it face up next to the stock pile to start the waste pile.

2. The Tableau: The remaining cards are divided into seven piles, with the first pile having one card, the second two, and so on, up to the seventh pile which has seven cards. The cards in these piles are dealt face down, with the top card turned face up.

3. Moving Cards: Players can move cards between the piles to build up foundations. Cards can be moved from a tableau pile to an empty foundation pile if they are in ascending order by suit (e.g., a 5 of clubs to an empty foundation pile for clubs, followed by a 6 of clubs).

4. Building Foundations: When a foundation pile is empty, players can use any available cards from the tableau to start a new foundation. The order of the cards must still be ascending from Ace to King.

5. Building Tableau Piles: Players can move cards from one tableau pile to another, but only if the card being moved is one higher in value than the card at the top of the destination pile and of the opposite suit.

6. Using the Waste Pile: Any time a player has no other moves, they can move the top card from the waste pile to any tableau pile or foundation pile, if applicable.

7. Winning the Game: The game is won when all cards have been moved to the foundation piles in the correct order.
