What is Othello-Reversi?

Othello-Reversi is a super fun and classic strategy board game that you play on an 8×8 grid. The game is all about placing black and white discs and trying to have more of your color on the board when it’s full. It starts with four discs in the middle of the grid, two black and two white, arranged in a checkerboard pattern. The coolest part is flipping your opponent’s discs to your color by outflanking them! It’s a game that makes you think and plan ahead.

How to Play

1. Starting the Game: The game begins with four discs in the center—two black and two white. You and your opponent take turns placing one disc at a time.
2. Making a Move: To make a move, you place your disc on the grid so that it “outflanks” your opponent’s discs. This means your disc must sandwich your opponent’s discs between your new disc and another one of your discs already on the board.
3. Flipping Discs: When you outflank your opponent’s discs, all the discs in between are flipped to your color. This can change the game in a big way!
4. Winning the Game: The game ends when the grid is full or no more moves can be made. The player with the most discs of their color on the board wins!

This version of Othello-Reversi has smooth animations, an AI opponent with three difficulty levels (easy, medium, and hard), and even keeps track of your wins and losses against the computer. It’s a great way to practice your strategy skills and have fun at the same time!
