What is La Bataille?
"La Bataille" is the most famous French card game! It's incredibly easy to play and super fun. It involves a pile of cards and the goal is to outwit your opponent by strategically throwing cards at them. The player with the best card wins. If two players play the same card, it's time for a thrilling battle!
How to Play La Bataille
- Set Up: Shuffle a deck of cards and place it face down on the table. The top card is flipped over to start the discard pile.
- Take Turns: Players take turns drawing cards from the deck. The number of cards drawn depends on the number of cards in their hand. For example, if you have 2 cards, you draw 2 cards; if you have 5 cards, you draw 5 cards.
- Play Cards: Each player plays a card from their hand face up next to the discard pile. The player with the highest card wins the round and takes all the cards from the pile.
- Battles: If two players play the same card, a battle ensues. Both players draw cards from the deck until one player's card is higher than the other. The winner takes the pile.
- Winning: The objective of the game is to collect all of your opponent's cards. The first player to do so is declared the winner!
