What is Classic Chess Duel?

Classic Chess Duel is a timeless two-player board game that takes place on a classic 8x8 chessboard, consisting of 64 squares. Each player begins the game with a total of 16 pieces, including a king, one queen, two knights, two rooks, two bishops, and eight pawns. The objective of the game is to checkmate your opponent's king, which means putting their king in a position where it is threatened with capture and cannot escape.

The game offers various ways to play, including against artificial intelligence, with a friend on the same device, or with a fellow player over the network in multiplayer mode. Additionally, the game features chess problem-solving challenges to enhance your skills.

How to Play Classic Chess Duel

The Pieces and Their Moves:

1. King - Can move one square in any direction, except for castling, which is a special move that combines the king's and a rook's movements.
2. Queen - Can move any number of squares in any direction (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) as long as there are no pieces in her path.
3. Rook - Can move any number of squares horizontally or vertically, as long as there are no pieces in her path.
4. Bishop - Can move any number of squares diagonally, as long as there are no pieces in her path.
5. Knight - Moves in an "L" shape: two squares in one direction and then one square perpendicular to that, or vice versa.
6. Pawn - Moves forward one square, captures diagonally, and can move two squares forward on its first move.

The Objective:

The ultimate goal for each player is to checkmate their opponent's king. This occurs when the king is in a position where it is threatened with capture and cannot escape. Checkmate is declared when there are no legal moves left for the king, and it is under attack.
